Finally back from Paris close to a week and I realise how much I miss my life here. It was a gd 6 weeks in France but somehow you just feel something is missing in your life.
Nevertheless the architecture was so beautiful, you could sit by the road side cafe for half a day to people watch and to drink in the cuture!

I really like walking along Champs-Elysee not because there are alot of branded shops but cos the architecture is so fascinating.

This is a view of the Eiffel tower from my classroom window. Its quite pretty on a good and clear day.

The exterior of the school looks pretty grand on the outside. Heard its built by Napoleon so you can guess the interior is a bit old.

Still have lots of photos but tink I will do it bit by bit.

Paris Apartment

My service apartment in Paris is in their CBD area and is quite a cosy little place.
This is my living room.

My kitchen is quite self sufficient complete with fridge, dish-washer, stove, kettle, coffee maker and all sorts of crockery and cutlery.
It will be nice to cook when Shutterbug is here!

Since I am staying alone they gave me a double bed.

The view outside my bedroom. Its always clear weather everyday.

Guess the bad thing about staying alone is about the safety issue cos I have a break in just 2 days ago when I was alone in the room. The guy tried to knock on my door but when I ignored him guess he thought that there was no one in the room. About 10 mins later, I heard my windows being opened when I already lock it! When I went to check, he tried to come in but upon seeing me he actually mumbled something before going away.
Well, thank God that nothing happened. My parents and Shutterbug are pretty worried and came up with all sorts of measures to ensure that such thing will not happen again.
Nevertheless, this episode has taught me to be more vigilant and more prepared in case anything else occur again.
I miss home!

Paris Part 1

Managed to downsize my photos, hence can post it on the net finally!
Was treated to a sumptuous dinner at Crystal Jade at the airport by Shutterbug cos he is so afraid that I won't get good chinese food in Paris. Wanted to order the Peking duck but was sold out. Oh well, can always eat it when I am back ha ha!

Paris airport was not as chic as I thought it would be! Rather it resembles a half constructed building. We took the tube like escalators to collect my luggage. The only futuristic looking thing.
Waiting for our luggage took ages. Tink we waited close to 1-2 hrs. My colleague's box of maggie mee was found to be still in Singapore Changi airport though. In the end he had to file a report. Although they promised to send to our service apartment in Paris, it never came.
Was tired after a 13 hrs flight and we went straight to the apartment.

Thinking of gettin a Macbook for my trip to France as well as a personal laptop in my room.
The new Macbook looks so delicious!

And it comes in white or black. But still I prefer white cos the Black one looks a bit plasticky.

Was looking through all the various liveaboard options and it seems that this one seems to be much nicer and pretty reasonable.
It called the Black Manta.

Another comfort plus point is also that the rooms are much bigger with a double bed and ensuite bathrooms.

The dining deck is also pretty spacious compared to those I have been on.

The saloon area looks pretty comfy too.

Definitely a must try the next time.
Also chanced upon the super luxurious liveaboard by Four Seasons in Maldives.
Can't help but put it in the blog for the drool factor. Ahh...

More Dive Trips Update

Came back two weeks ago from my latest dive trip with my colleagues in Malaysia yet again.
This time round went to Pulau Aur, Dayang and Tioman.
Although it was a liveaboard trip, nevertheless we had to take a bus to Mersing before boarding the boat.
Was stuck at the causeway for a gd 2-3 hrs sigh... After making our way through the causeway, we had our first makan stop at this place where the food was good and cheap.

After a crazy ride on the van as the driver was swerving left and right, we finally reach the pier where we had to board a small fishing boat to transfer us to the bigger boat.
Wasn't very impressed when I saw this at 12am in the morning.

Anyway, still hoped that it was going to get better when we reach the bigger boat. It was a gd half an hour ride before we board the bigger boat called Divemaster.
Dunno if I was too pampered on the last liveaboard trip that I was quite dismayed at the living areas of the boat this time.
Hmm.. basically there were no doors, jus a cloth curtain that demarcates your space or bed that is. It jus t reminds me of a better version of a refugee camp without the metal mesh ha ha.
Still.... I look forward to the dives and good company. =)
Woke up to blue skies the next morning yeah!

All in all, the dives were average as the visibility was poorer at only 8m compared to my first trip at 20m. It was also more tiring this time round maybe because I was sleeping right next to the noisy engine.

I still prefer the dive trip I went with shutterbug in May.
We went with MV Seaborne to Pulau Dayang, Aur and Pulau Yu.

Though not luxurious, at least you have a twin room to yourselves which is clean and comfortable.

Best of all, it departs from the Singapore Yacht Club which means beating all the long queues at the causeway.
We were also treated to a magnificent sunset while having dinner before the boat departs.

After the boat left the pier, we enjoyed the Singapore night skyline and also went past a huge cruise ship.

Nothing beats waking up to clear blue sky, turquoise water and the gentle rocking of the boat.
Breakfast was simple but nice and with a cup of hot tea... Bliss...

After a relaxed breakfast and rest, we went for our dives.

The water was also just nice that we only went in rashguard and bermudas.
After the dive, we were treated to another sumptuous lunch.

It was a very relaxed holiday and one of the dive sites is near this island.

Another beautiful sunset spent lazing on the boat.

Dinner time was anticipated espcially after our night dives plus the fact that the captain of the boat who used to be a chef is cooking. Yummy!

The weekend was over before we knew it. Well, we are planning another dive this year hopefully sometime in Oct after our Hong Kong trip and my Paris course in Aug/Sep.

Was checking out the hotels in Hong Kong and Macau in preparation for our trip in Jul.
Found that the hotels in Hong Kong are so expensive for the tiny rooms they offer.
Was tempted to stay a night at the Peninsula Hotel for the killer view but at S$900 a night, tink my eyes will pop out!

Well if you have a lot of money to spare, try the Peninsula Suite.

Tink we will go for the afternoon tea at the Verandah instead. Looks alot like Raffles hotel dun you tink.

It reminds me of Ritz Carlton and their Paranormic views of the Harbour.

Finally decided to settle on the Cosmo Hotel in Wanchai which is situated close to Times Square.
The rates are pretty cheap and the decor looks like a boutique hotel.

The interesting thing is that the room numbers are on the floor.

Their bar look sorta hip too!

Until then, looking forward to my dive trips in May and June.

Weekend Highlights

Had a smacking gd time shopping and eating our way in Marina Square over the weekend.
Me and shutterbug went to Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao for a light lunch.

Yup, tats me enjoying the xiao long bao. Its even better than the one at Ding Tai Feng. Yummy.
While shutterbug went to meet his client, I went to Rocky Masters to have a cuppa and read my book. We went shopping after his appointment for facial masks together and bought quite a lot; enough for 2 months supply at least.
After window shopping for quite a while, decided to try out the Jap restaurant we happen to chance upon at one obscure corner of Marina Square.

They were having a buffet promotion and so we decided to give it a try.

We were quite hungry by then and he is looking forward to the spread.

Their salmon and unagi temaki looks fantastic!

We also ordered the salmon sashimi, our all time fav.

The beef was very sweet and tender and it was definitely worth another visit.
It was a fulfilling trip back home after that =)

My First Dayang Dive Trip

Its my first dive trip for my open waters and advanced certification in Pulau Dayang.
After experiencing Pulau Hantu with visibility so bad I can hardly see my hand outstretched, I was totally swept away by the clear waters.
We reached the resort ard 4am in the morning by the time which I was longing for a soft bed to curl myself in.

Tropical Paradise anyone?

Yupz... thats the sleepy me in our 12 man bunk in Pulau Dayang.
No doubt its not 5 star standard, nevertheless its still nice and cosy especially the cool air con on a hot night.

Was so occupied with doing the drills and keeping up with my buddies that I missed some of the exotic marine life.

Had a great time peeking at nemos and family! They were hiding in and out of the anemone, so cute that I was tempted to cup them in my hands!

The following morning was a raining cats and digs initially, hence our morning dive was cancelled. Sorta glad for more shut eye though.
The rain cleared shortly after and we managed to do 2 more dives before heading for the ferry back to mersing.

Oh nooo..........................
I am worried sick cos I lost my IC, in my workplace that is....
I clearly remember I forgot to retrieve it from the computer but I went back an hour later its GONE!!!
I definitely hope that one of my colleagues kept it for me and will pass to me when they see me in the office, BUT... What If....
Shutterbug gonna say I am a Big Head Prawn again (in cantonese that is)
I try to convince myself that it is gonna be ok, worst case scenario I would probably replace it pay a $50 fine thats all.
BUT... all I can think now is my IC... I cannot eat cannot sleep cannot think straight... arghh....
Maybe if I chant IC............ IC............... IC.................. enough times it will end up in my room or better in my pocket!
Ha ha!!! I gotta think of something else before I start mumbling to myself...

Ha ha... today I blogged on my own accord Yeah!

Realized that I dun need something profound in order to blog.
My day started lazily with me waking at 1pm, Yupz... on a weekday that is!
Being the kan cheong spider that is, I hurriedly went downstairs to find a tailor to make another working skirt for me cos the maid ironed a hole out of it.
That is my only skirt!
BUT.... they cannot make it within a week. Thank goodness my darling reminded me to go to the orignal one at Excelsior Hotel which can deliver by this sat. In the meantime gotta stick to the skirt and hope that people won't notice.
After a whirlwind of activities of travelling here and there and helping darling run his errands before he goes to Hong Kong, we managed to go Plaza Singapura for a afternoon Tea at the Eclectic Attic.
Its a quaint little bohemian style antique shop with a cafe at one corner. We ordered the coffee and tea tasters which are actually 4 types of coffee and tea respectively in a platter for you to savour. Besides that we also had chocolate cake and ice cream tasters. Yummy yummy for a nice afternoon tea. I think darling got quite a kick out of the espresso ha ha! Heard that their forte is the pan fried foie gras.
Decided to blog for the days that shutterbug is in Hong Kong. Maybe then he will have something to read about when he is back

Hmm.... its been 11 days since I last blogged.
Guess I am not the very persistent person and yes I managed to blog again because my boyfren is bugging me.
The past week or so have gone in a whirl and I am in a state whereby I do not know what I am doing with myself.
Can I imagine myself doing what I am doing for the rest of my life??? Sounds boring to me.
Perhaps life is about a state of mind. You live your life day in day out but you determine the way you wanna live it.
Yeah yeah... we hear this all the time. There are times when it is hard to keep your chin up and smile cos things seemed to be going the wrong way although I keep telling that to myself.
I also realized that I am a paranoid person sometimes. I tend to think or anticipate the worst and hence make my day worse than ever.
Right now my mind is in a blank, maybe later..................

Start a Blog

Hmph......
My boyfren has been bugging me for a long long.... time to start a blog despite my misgivings.
Personally, I felt that I would be too lazy to continue with it even if I started it in the first place and I am totally clueless what I am gonna write about everyday or every other day or......

So even though I threatened him that I will pour my hearts out including all the complaints and and the embarrassing things that he has done or might do in the future, he is still bugging ME....
Hmm, maybe I should call this my personal Blug (Blogging due persistent bugging) dedicated to my dear ever patient boyfren who refuses to give up on me.

Well to his credit, I do enjoy reading those stuff he wrote in his own blog especially those stuff about me not to mention that Kaiser and Kobe blog is jus so cute...

Now that I have made the first step, I hope I can keep this up whether under duress or not.
So darling can this DO....... =P
